Free Rock Drumming Play-Along Song
This video play-along features Sonus's song "10 Seconds" as performed by Dave Atkinson. Start by watching Dave play in the video, and then download the audio-only version that has all the drum-tracks removed. You can either play similar beats to Dave, or come up with your own original patterns.
If you aren't sure what to play for this play-along song, browse through the
rock drumming lessons here on FreeDrumLessons.com. They teach literally dozens of beats and fills that work well within rock music!
Build the energy with a crescendo right in the beginning. The fill that follows
is a double bass fill.
The main riff and verse are the same beat just with a different hi-hat feel. Open
the hi-hats for the intro riff and close the hi-hats for the verse.
The chorus is a tricky 16th note pattern. The diamond shape is a ride bell stroke.
This is the same idea as verse 1, where you play the intro again then break into
the verse.
Open hi-hat pattern with a punk rock double time feel.
This chorus is different then the others, with a 8th note feel.
Play the main riff again with an open hi-hat feel. Make sure you hit the 4 shots
at the end with the guitars.
