The flam paradiddle-diddle is a combination of the single paradiddle-diddle and the flam stroke. This rudiment is great for use within a variety of drumming styles. Try implimenting it into a beat that already makes use of the basic paradiddle-diddle, by adding in a flam stroke from time to time. Here is how the flam paradiddle-diddle looks when written out in drum notation:
If you can already play a simple flam, and a steady single paradiddle-diddle, this rudiment will come quite easily for you. The sticking may look a little complicated, but just break it down slowly and it will make sense. Focus on playing the pattern right the first time, and let the speed come with time.
